wat's an album i've listened to w/o having some comments on it? hmmm... ~~borrowed~~ reviewed 2 albums from wei-gu: z chen's 《快乐》 & stef sun's 《完美的一天》 b4 the exams period & had been listening to them now and then.

yup, cos they weren't as attractive as the prev albums i owned. bleah.

not really lah.

okok... i muz say z chen is not my type. even tho the album was basically a 口水 album, ie the songs were other popular songs, i muz say dat his taste really deviates from mine. or perhaps the music arrangement is far from my type (cos i've neva heard most of the songs in their original form to conclude firmly).

Kuai Le ~ Z Chen

u see, the only original song, 《快乐》 was the only song dat attracted me and incidentally, ranks high in my hierarchy of song preference. another song 《放你的真心在我的手心》 also sound gd, esp the choral pt. 《担心》 was gd only cos i liked the original song enuf to keep up w the new version.

the other songs juz lull me to sleep.

i mean, isn't R&B like jay chou, w middle-to-fast tempo? or for slow ballads, the melody will b captivating enuf for a listener to stay alive? i dunno much abt R&B, and perhaps z chen was using another music genre in the album. still, it sux.

wat abt stef? it's a happy album, generally, or so my impression tells me. i prefer her mid-to-fast tempo songs, cos the slower ballads also tend to b boring. not like 《我的爱》 which was charming enuf to capture my heart.

Wan Mei De Yi Tian ~ Sun Yanzi

the only impressionable ballad was 《隐形人》, of which it was stef's expression dat took my attn. she was gd in dat song, as gd as 《同类》. yup, but i still haven't given enuf attn to it to figure out the contents of the song.

my 3 favs of the album will b 《完美的一天》、《第一天》 & "Honey Honey". superb!

《完美的一天》 can b said to b quite 随性. truly. i like its laid back feel. u noe, totally expressing the emotions of a day-dreamer (like me). not mentioning the lyrics, the melody and arrangements itself brings me to another realm, the realm of daydreams where reality and fantasy merge.

as usual, critrics critic 《第一天》 to b substandard (my fav songs r always deemed substandard lol). they said it sound like rojak rather than of distinctive flavour of MayDay or FIR. i mean, hello, it's supposed to b the mix of the 2 bands! somehow, i feel MayDay more than FIR, in the line of 《终结孤单》. the song was totally ecstasized and a gd prozac for the depressed minds. i haf decided to play the song out loud on the day when i graduate and start living in US. yes!!! First Day! Today! Everyday!

"Honey Honey" is a very attractive song. like cyndi's "Honey", the song is sweet, but in another dimension. the former is aggressively sweet, while stef sounded passively sweet. the music arrangement is nice, and lifts spirits moderately (in comparison to First Day)... yep, i'd like my gal to be passively sweet. hmmm... *slurp*

if i hafta make any conclusion or recommendation, buy stef's album, dun buy z chen. lol
