I'm Not A Superstar, But I'm A Superfren!

Let's clear things 1st. I dunch wanna get caught in an embarrasing teasing situation, so I'm gonna announce this: I went to audition for Project Superstar BUT I didn't get in. haha... ok. Not feeling sad, but feeling scared that they might take a scene with me singing AND MAKE FUN OF ME with silly captions like: Oversized contestants with Oversized ego...

oh but well, at least close friends now (or rather, a month later) won't come to me with a smug smile and snigger: You joined PS right? You looked so... dorkish!!!

haha... Really, I don't feel sad. I told xy that 不到黄河心不死，at least 2 months later, when I'm watching the show, I won't be thinking: aiyer... Should have joined. Maybe I could win.

We can never always live in Maybes...

Also, I thought I am a very good friend. haha... If I can't get a title bestowed by some other people, then I'll bestow a title for myself. lol

I mean, I spent the whole of Monday preparing for the Gift Of The Year: tC's birthday present.

haha... At first I thought putting me as Producer at the top of the Credits list was a bit bhb, but well, I thought I should deserve some limelight. haha... Afterall, I sacrificed sleep before my audition for the POTY lol

Credits

First, I was lazy, and it wasn't until sunday night (after waiting in the sun for 7 hours to register for PS) that I realized tC's birthday was just 2 days away. So I sent a mass msn to everybody online to submit to me a personalized birthday greeting on ppt slide.

But on the next morning, I thought it wasn't sincere enough. I was listening to my zenv:m when it occured to me that I could make use of the player's voice recording function. After all, that player had only been used to record my own singing to check if I went off key (frankly speaking, I rarely use it, cos I think I sound spastic, speaking or singing). So I sent a mass sms to all Ma'ats to come down to clubroom to look for me to record their greetings, where I'll station all day after 12 for the sole purpose of waiting for them.

The aim was simple: Record your greeting. If you want, you can dedicate songs and we'll include the song into the 'album'.

Jenny, Edlina, Derui, Sin En and Zin came as promised. Some of them were very against the idea of leaving voice messages, so they did their ppt slides only. Then, Jenny suggested we make a 广播剧. So we came up with a lame, but short script. With only 4 characters, it should be easy to act out.

But problems came.

1st, tC came to clubroom. haha... We had to stop everything. ok, it was my fault too. In order to check if he was going to clubroom for GAW, I messaged something spastic like: You going to clubroom today? Things went out of control and I had to meet him to let him preview the songs I prepared for LB MAF.

Then, nobody was willing to record the 广播剧. Zin ran away, Dr & SE never came back. Edlina was the only one who recorded her dedication. All my hope was pinned on km, who promised to drop by clubroom to make recordings.

But our luck changed. Clubroom was deserted by those hardcore clubroom users, with only Luke, the friend of Ma'at around with me. So it meant we had a peaceful, quiet place where we can record silly stuff! Then km came and Edlina pon her meeting.

Thus we started recording.

It was funny. cos Ed said she had to leave soon, we filtered out the parts with her and recorded those scenes 1st. It was Scene 2, Scene 4, then Scene 3, Scene 5 then Scene 1. Machiam like filming movie! Also, we rehearsed and improved the script on the spot. Like Scene 5, it wasn't there in the 1st place. We included background music too. Sound effects, softening of music... Though not professionally, but it was ok lah.

Then km recorded the Opening Speech for the album. After which, he could not get enough and recorded the Closing Speech.

All in all, the recording session lasted 3 hours.

But that was not all.

I had to record rx's greetings through the loudspeaker of my handphone while I was on the cab. Did the same for bryan at home, where he was in camp doing COS duty, waiting for staff parade. Had to do the post-production, like arranging the tracks, naming them, decorating the album cover and including some Credit and Contents List...

After audtion in the morning, I spent some time to decorate the album cover even more. Cos I was like filled the space on the outside, but the inside was barren. Then LF came along to submit her share of the greeting, which was made from cardboard. It couldn't fit into the album itself, so I found some rustic twine in clubroom and tied the cardboard to the album, machiam like a gift.

Boy was I satisfied with the gift.

It was the biggest project I've undertaken for a b'day gift and I ~~bet~~ hope it's the one of a kind gift tC ever received lol
